Why do you get vaginal dryness?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vaginal dryness is usually linked to menopause, but other hormonal changes from childbirth, breastfeeding and even the second half of our menstrual cycle tend to dry us up down there. So too can certain medications, soap, tampons, alcohol, excessive exercise, stress and fatigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though vaginal dryness may seem like a minor irritation, it can affect your quality of life. Treating vaginal dryness is very important, not only for your physical well-being, but also because of the emotional impact it can have.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

How to treat vaginal dryness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The main reason for dryness is a drop in oestrogen, a hormone that makes your vagina moist and elastic. That\u2019s why many treatments will help compensate for the reduced natural oestrogen levels. Hormonal therapy can be oral, especially if other symptoms of menopause are present, but they can also be topical (hormonal patches) or vaginal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
