How do you get BV?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BV is the result of the overgrowth of unwanted bacteria in your vagina. Normally, the healthy lactobacilli are the dominating bacteria in the vagina, but if BV develops, other unwanted bacteria start to overgrow\/proliferate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most common treatment for bacterial vaginosis is antibiotics, prescribed as an oral tablet or as a product you apply in your vagina. This is an effective treatment for most women, however they can increase resistance to future treatment making it less effective, and cause side effects such as nausea and vomiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
